What is wrong with this town BC football use to be the biggest thing in this town know we can barely get people to come to the games it seems to me like they are not even trying to get in touch with the people of this town. If you recruited more home town players more people would come to see the games. The players need to get out there and try to get people to go to the games by getting in touch with the community. Then i think we will be able to bring BC back to it's championship statcher.

Take it from someone who's been involved with the BC program for 30 years. You can have all local players, but if you're not winning, they will not come.

BC uses 80 percent area players right now, but has to look elsewhere for the skill players and defensive linemen. All of the premier players in those catergories go to 4 year schools from here.

As long as UCLA and USC are playing on FoxSnet at BC game time, people will stay home. The main problem is all the new development in this town is in the SW and that's where the population is now too. If the stadium and school were out there, it would be a different story.

Chudy can do it. If he can bring fast break football to Bakersfield, the fans will come back. Maybe 5000 on a regular basis, which will keep the dream alive.

But we've still got to go get the George Jones', the Randy Jordans, and the other skill players to supplement the local talent.

I like the stuff I'm hearing, the way workouts have been changed to include core fitness training, the way the players have been handled, the stuff coming from the players in the paper.

Looks like Jan and Jeff are going to try some new things on the field and off with some added entertainment for the fans and even a tailgating competition.

I've already heard more new ideas for this season than I've heard in the last ten years combined.

Another idea that "Jan" is standing in the way of is playing teams from outside of California.

Glendale AZ has as tremendous program, and have a very large following as well. It's common for the Goucho's to have roughly 2000 fans travel as far as Roswell NM or Ephraim UT to see them play. Home games draw between 6-8000.

No disrespect to Henry Washington and Southwest, but I feel the Gades would benefit a lot more by testing themselves against one of the best in the NJCAA.

I started going to BC games in the early 60's. There was nothing like going to a Saurday night game after an early dinner at The Tam. I remember sitting in the stands watching warm ups at a Pasadena or El Camino game when the bands drummers would start that awesome cadence. It would send chills down your spine. Why the heck don't they have a band anymore? I saw all the games for years, the 88' game with Fullerton was the best, 76' Junior Rose bowl game, the mud bowl state title game in 69'. I can tell you why I don't go anymore, I am working in Colorado, but I still listen to all the games on the computer. I happened to be in town for last years playoff game with El Camino, what a game, except for "the catch". But it was like old times for one night. What excitement. I agree Jeff Chudy can bring back the excitement, the winning and the crowds. All you oldtimers need to get off your duff and go support BC again, tell your friends about how great the games are, these kids work their butts off and deserve the support.
