Hotel Tourism: I took 1 year of this in my sophomore year in high school; it was a work experience class and a hospitality class. I was lectured from the manager of the Red Lion Hotel. I learned many tasks, and I worked with a lot of brilliant hotel staff. I worked at the front desk, and in the laundry room. I also helped make up the rooms. These are just a few of the tasks I learned.
JTPA: I worked with North Bakersfield Recreation & Park District. I worked as a groundskeeper at North Beardsly Park. I received a letter of recommendation from Ruben Musquez and Ester Martinez, whom I will use as references. JTPA is a job-training program, which was run during the summer.
ROTC: This stands for Reserve Officers Training Corps. I served with this group, which was a program hosted by the Marine Corps, for four years. I received many promotions throughout my time and attended many civic service events for the community. I was commissioned a first lieutenant in my senior year, and I was the program's S-4, in which I took care of supplies and logistics.
